Quite simply, one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. Listening to The Very Best Of Al Green this morning in the car made it all come flooding back to me. Tremendous.
Mid Morning Music Video #202 -‘Let’s Stay Together’ by Al Green
Amazing. Just, the most amazing thing ever. Al Green is incredible, I saw him one Glastonbury afternoon and he absolutely blew everyone else on that day off the stage. Mind you, this was a day where the next act was The Corrs. Not difficult, I guess. But really, just excellent.
(Someone has suggested ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams as a Valentine’s Day song. ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams is about dead people, not even about dead loves, it’s about a dead son. ‘Angels’ is definitely not a suitable Valentine’s day song. Please do not play it whilst you and your partner awkwardly make out as you head towards the midnigt organ fight today, because you will be building up to sex by listening to a song about someones dead child. Do you want that on your head? Really? You’re fucking to music about dead children. You make me sick.)
