Hello there. My name is Oliver. This is my blog. I wish I was a rapper. My blog is mostly filled with West Ham United Football Club, my family of a wife and two cats, and music that I like.

Here are some music videos I quite like and some words about them. It's a gimmick.

Here's some music I've been listening to recently. ollib1304's Profile Page

Mid Morning Music Video #308 - ‘Young Homie’ by Chris Rene

If you ever questioned the sense behind taking X Factor stateside, this, and most of the show last night, should show you how right it was. Chris Rene hauls trash for a living, he’s 27, with a 2 year old son, and he’s just got out of rehab for drug addiction. He’s now 70 days sober. This video tells you the whole story, but if you want just the song, skip to 2:30. The song, which is an original composition (no, seriously, ever seen one of those on UK X Factor?), is basically a bit of a soulful slow jam, kind of a bit rappy, but more RnB than anything. Imagine Drake was white and a bit more sugary, and that’s pretty much it. It’s pretty darn good, and I at least really enjoyed it. Genuinely, American X Factor, episode 1, was a demonstration of how terrible the UK version has been so far. LA Reid’s dancing alone is reason enough to make that statement factual, let alone his chest punching after the audition.
